5. Suspicious Physical Injury Burns or scalds
Extensive bruising or abrasions on any part of the body
Bruising, swelling, or abrasions on the head, neck or face
Fractures of any bone in a child under 3
Multiple fractures in a child of any age
Dislocations, soft tissue swelling or moderate to severe cuts
6. Suspicious Physical Injury Loss of ability to walk or move normally according to the childs developmental ability
Unconsciousness or difficulty maintaining consciousness
Multiple injuries of different types
Injuries causing serious or protracted disfigurement or loss or impairment of any bodily organ
Any other injury that threatens the physical well-being of a child
7. Photographs Suspicious physical injury
Must be taken every time a suspicious physical injury is observed
Copies of photos must be provided to the designated medical professional within 48 hours
8. Photographs A copy of the photos must be put in any relevant files on the child
Photos will be made available to MDT members at the first meeting regarding the childs case after the photos are taken
9. Medical Assessments Must take place within 48 hours
Must be conducted by the designated medical professional
If the designated medical professional is not available, the child should be seen by any available physician
The person conducting the medical assessment may access records from the childs regular physician

Trained to conduct medical assessments as defined in ORS 418.782
Regularly available to conduct medical assessments
11. DESIGNATED MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL INFORMATION DUE:
SEPTEMBER 1, 2008!!!
12. Early Intervention If the child is under 5 years of age the designated medical professional may refer the child for a screening for early intervention services
If the child is already receiving early intervention services, a person involved in the delivery of those services shall be invited to participate in the MDTs review of the childs case
13. DHS Critical Incident Response Teams DHS shall assign a CIRT to respond to a child fatality within 24 hours after DHS has determined that the fatality was related to child abuse or neglect if:
The child was in DHS custody at the time of death
The child was the subject of a CPS assessment within 12 months of the date of death
14. HB 3328 is effective IMMEDIATELY!
