ACS Scholars Program, Fall 2019 Highlights • 394 Scholars across the United States* • 214 Universities represented across the US and two US territories (Puerto Rico and Guam) • 138 Scholars selected for 2019* • 83% of 2018 and earlier Scholars have mentors** • Over 310 Scholar Alumni have earned Doctorate degrees • Over 43 Scholar Alumni are university faculty members *As of August 2019; **Does not include the 2019 cohort

  3. Spring 2019 Graduate Statistics • 89 graduates, average GPA: 3.49 • 95% have participated in some research/ internship • 83% reported having a mentor that they talk to regularly • ACS Certified Degree Recipients • Of the 42 Chemistry majors, 19 received an ACS Certified degree • Of the 24 Chemical Engineering majors, 23 received an ABET-accredited Degree (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology)

CMA Programming • Co-Sponsored Symposia • Computers in Chemistry (COMP) entitled “Elucidating Reaction Mechanisms with Computational and Experimental Chemistry” • Environmental Chemistry (ENVR) entitled “Water, Health, and Environmental Justice in Marginalized Communities”. Luncheon Keynote Address “Addressing the disparity between being a non-traditional student and the guidelines imposed by contemporary research in STEM” Dr. Luisa Whittaker-Brooks
