Engaging Students in the Standard Share: Jigsaw to Learn Information • Meet in your expert group • Choose a partner and examine the Progression of a Standard for your expert group. • Dialog about the instructional implications of that standard for science, math, and social studies. • Round-robin what you discussed as partners. • Members of the expert group determine what ideas you will share with your home groups using your Moving Forward recording sheets.
Engage Students in the Standard Discuss: • Return to your main group, discuss ideas and share your Moving Forward recording sheets. • Use your Moving Forward recording sheets to collaborate to write a Matchbook Summary that conveys the main ideas and significant details about writing across content areas. • Write your summary on a large Post-it Note.
