Introductions and icebreaker Nazeehah to lead
Goals By the end of today’s training you will be able to… • Identify your personal leadership style • Understand what leadership styles are effective in different situations • Identify areas of concern for project implementation and discuss possible solutions
Identify your personal leadership style For our next activity we will be moving over to the other half of the room. Be sure to bring paper and a pen/pencil with you and leave all other materials here.
Leadership skills As we move to the next activity think about these questions: What ‘s the first thing your do when you start a new project? What do you tend to do when you’re under pressure? What feedback have you been given about yourself? What seems most comfortable?
Leadership skills Keeping in mind the 4 questions, look at all of the leadership styles and decide which one is your PRIMARY direction and write it on your paper.

Identifying areas of concern On your notecard write one area of concern you have for implementing your project. This can be large or small. For example: I’m concerned about how I will raise funds for my project or I’m not sure how to recruit volunteers. When you finish, stack your notecards in the middle of your table.
Trouble-shooting Read the concern on the notecard you were given. Think about one way this area of concern/need could be addressed. Record your response on the notecard. When everyone is finished, share your areas of concern and possible solutions with your table group and add any additional thoughts.
