  3. Impetigo? • Skin infection caused by bacteria • Forms round, crusted, oozing spots • streptococcus

  4. How do you get impetigo? • impetigo or boils • impetigo begins out of blue without any visible source of infection. • Commonly found around the hands and face

  5. Symptoms • Tiny blisters • those blisters eventually burst • leave small wet patches of red skin that may weep fluid. a tan or yellowish-brown crust covers the affected area

  6. Prevention • Regular hand washing • baths or showers regularly Contagiousness!!!!!!!!!! • Infected skin or other items • Clothing, towels, and bed linens

  7. Treatments • Antibiotics • (can clear in 4-5 days) • Soak a soft, clean cloth in a mixture. Press this cloth on the crusts for 10-15 minutes three or four times daily. Then gently wipe off the crusts and apply a little antibiotic ointment.

  8. Call the DOC!!!!! • When the first signs break out. • If the sores don't heal in about 4 days • Rash becomes red, warm, or tender to the touch
