Symptoms and Causes • Typically caused by the bacterium staphylococcus aureus • Bacteria enters the skin through a cut or mosquito bite • Individuals in a contact sports (football and wrestling) more likely to contract disease • Red sores that ooze a yellow fluid and form a yellow brown crust. • Itching
Treatment • Hygenic- wash the infected area. Allow body to heal itself • Topical- a prescribed ointment • Oral Antibiotics- prescribed drugs taken orally
