Preface 1. IDSA's Anti-Doping programme seeks to preserve the “spirit of sport”. With doping being fundamentally contrary to the spirit of sport, the aim of the IDSA Anti-Doping education programme is to prevent the intentional or unintentional use of Prohibited Substances and Prohibited Methods in Dance Sport. Preventing doping involves raising awareness of the pertinent issues, disseminating relevant and accurate information, and positively influencing beliefs, attitudes and behaviours. 2. IDSA believes that it is vital that its Athletes are aware of their rights when it comes to Anti-Doping. Therefore the IDSA develops, maintains and distributes its Anti-Doping education programme, an interactive online learning tool that educates Dance Sport Athletes on their rights and responsibilities as well as guiding the towards a healthy lifestyle preventing them from doping.
Objective: educational activities aimed at preventing the intentional or unintentional use of prohibited substances and methods among professional athletes and the youth.
Tasks: 1. To develop educational programs aimed at preventing the use of doping in dance sport. 2. Implementation of developed educational programs aimed at preventing the use of doping in sport.
Target groups: 1. Sport of highest achievements – athletes and coaches, trainers, managers, agents, team staff, official, medical or para-medical personnel involved in the athletes treatment and their training or competitions.. 2. Dance sport education - schoolchildren of sport schools, students of sports universities and teachers of sport educational institutions. 3. Young people engaged in dance sports - universities and students of non-core universities. 4. People interested in dance sport - people of different ages and social strata.
Program to strengthen the negative attitudes to the use of doping in dance sport • The work at looking through the basic anti-doping documents. • The section about Anti-Doping Ensuring on the website of the IDSA. • The including of anti-doping section in the structure of web-sites of national federations of dance sport. • A meetings with representatives national teams with a detailed analysis of each specific case of violation of anti-doping rules. • The anti-doping seminars on the major sports events in dance sport. • Conferences devoted to anti-doping in sport and measures to prevent its use.
Educational materials on the Anti-Doping Education • A modular program for anti-doping education for different stages of sport training (according to the age) is in the process of developing. Materials such programs will be developed for athletes, coaches and medical stuff. • Materials on Anti-Doping Education for lecture course for athletes are being preparing. • Elaborated of training materials on anti-doping topic for coaches of sports institutions in dance sport. • The introduction of materials on activities aimed at combating doping in dance sport in popular media of dance sport for young athletes; • Creation and distribution of the periodical anti-doping publication; • Showing a video on anti-doping propaganda in the frame of large dance sport events; • Distribution among athletes and coaches of an anti-doping flash game and other anti-doping events on the WADA website.
