Summary – UK experience (i) Advantages • A big improvement over the existing CRF • Sector experts can complete their own parts of the CRF and submit to the NIC – reduces transcription errors • More internal checks that the existing CRF – so better QC of data prior to submission • CRF Reporter helpdesk works! Limitations • Need to install the software – and re-install each time there is a revision • Less transparency when trying to trace aggregation errors
Summary – UK experience (ii) Time and planning to implement • Some work needed to learn how to use the Reporter and check output • check emissions in CRF Reporter agree with your last submission • importing notes from the old CRF might be time consuming • training of sector experts to use the tool • Allow yourself time to become familiar with the software • Start as soon as you can!!
