Romans 12 • v1-2: Our spiritual worship - offering consecrated bodies and renewed minds. • v3-8: Our spiritual gifts – using natural and supernatural gifts from God. • v9-13: Our spiritual family -love within the family of God. • v14-21: Our spiritual maturity – loving others. (note similar structure with 1 Cor 12-13)

  5. You cannot love everyone; it is ridiculous to think you can. If you love everyone and everything you lose your natural powers of selection and wind up being a pretty poor judge of character and quality. If anything is used too freely it loses its true meaning. Marilyn Manson

  8. v 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. v 17Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.   17. Pray to bless your enemies (v14a, v1, Luke 6:27, 36, Matt 5:44-45). • Pray more for their relationship with God, then your relationship with them (e.g; thief on the cross). • Pray you show them mercy, as you received mercy from God. • Prayer may not change your enemies, but….

May the Lord reward you well for the way you have treated me today. (1 Sam 24: 17, 19)
