Yes Kakapo can swim but only for a little while because of there short legs they cant paddle. They can swim for 5minutes. Kakapos only lay 1 to 3 eggs a year that’s why we try to help them however we can. Kakapos are herbivores ( plant eaters).

Kakapos are herbivores ( plant eaters). They usally eat fruit, seeds, leaves and roots from other native plants.
Every year they save 25 kakapos a year thanks to the people at Stewart Island.
