This did not only happen once or twice, but in fact was the case in the majority of these scenarios. It actually became quite a joke in our own little 'drug community'. The moment someone was not around for a while and you had not heard that they were dead, then you knew they were taking a 'holiday' in one of the many drug rehabilitation centres at someone else's expense. It is only now that I have been free from heroin addiction for 10 years that this is no longer such a big joke to me, in fact it is very sad. The fact that so many drug addicts enter the system of drug rehabilitation centres but never actually recover is very disturbing to me. And believe me when I tell you that this is not the fault of the mostly wonderful staff giving their all in these drug rehabilitation centres, but rather due to the incorrect mindset of the addict themselves when they enter these facilities. Normally people entering these facilities are being forced or pressured into doing so by their families, friends or the justice system. I believe that this is the reason for the failure rates which we see when it comes to recovering addicts and successful drug rehabilitation centres. I personally know that it was my ability to adopt a recovery mindset which managed to save me from falling victim to death by overdose or suicide. One truly
needs to work more on the mindsets of a recovering junkie than any other aspect when it comes to their recovery. Not only will this improve the rate of recovery but it will also be good for peoples budget when they no longer need to hand over wads of cash in the hope that their loved one will recover and stay clean after having been treated in one of the many drug rehabilitation centres. David Kuhn is a recovered drug addict who has now been DRUG FREE for 10 years. His addiction journey ended up with intravenous heroin addiction and the recovery from this was extreme but he managed to join the ranks of the few who have managed to survive this type of addiction.. It is for this reason that he created [http://www.recoveringjunkie.com] in order to be able to share this information with anyone who feels their life is been torn apart or affected in any way by DRUG ABUSE, ADDICTION OR USE!
