What is Podcasting? • A mixing of the words Broadcasting and iPod. • A web-based broadcast medium • Audio files (mostly MP3) made available online • Users can subscribe to a podcast through an RSS feed or through iTunes. • The New Oxford American Dictionary declared “Podcast” the 2005 Word of the Year!   3. What is Podcasting? • Podcasting is sometimes referred to as an “Audio Blog” • Podcasting is not just for iPods (or other mp3 players) • Podcasting is not limited to just audio files – video podcasting is becoming more common. Podcasting PowerPoint
