NCDOT Projects Under Construction • Morrisville Parkway Grade Separation • Construction of Railroad Bridge Over Morrisville Parkway • Add Traffic Signals at Intersection of Crabtree Crossing Parkway and Morrisville Parkway • Add Sidewalks on Both Sides of Morrisville Parkway Between Crabtree Crossing Parkway and Bristol Creek Drive • Requires Two Closures of Morrisville Parkway Between Crabtree Crossing Parkway and Bristol Creek Drive: • A 7-Day Closure Beginning Around July 28th • A 6-Month Closure in 2016 • Add Turn Lanes on Morrisville-Carpenter Road at Town Hall Drive (as Mitigation for Road Closure Detour) • Hopson Road Grade Separation • Construction of Railroad Bridge over Hopson Road in Durham County • Project Will Close Church Street Railroad Crossing at NC 54 • Church Street Will Be Realigned to Keystone Park Drive, Which Will Be Extended to Hopson Road
NCDOT Projects Under Construction Continued • Morrisville-Carpenter Road Widening & Davis Drive Intersection Improvement Project • Town is Participating in Project – Providing $250,000 of Payment-In-Lieu Funds Paid by Grace Park Developer and $98,000 Out of General Fund • Smooth out “hump” in Davis Drive Intersection and Add Pedestrian Crossing Signals and Crosswalks at all Four Quadrants • Widen Morrisville-Carpenter Road, Adding Curb, Gutter and Sidewalk, Between Leafy Creek Drive and Gratiot Drive • Additional Pavement Will Be Striped as Wide Shoulder and Turn Lane – No Travel Lane • Add Mid-Block Crossing at Grace Park/Morrisville Market Greenways and at Savannah Neighborhood
NC54 Bypass/McCrimmon Parkway Extension Project • Largest Bond-Financed Roadway Project in Town History – $14.3 Million Bond Approved By Voters in 2012 • Will Extend McCrimmon Parkway from NC 54 to Aviation Parkway at Evans Road • 2-Lane Section from Airport Boulevard to Aviation Parkway on 4-Lane Right-of-Way • Potential to Improve Existing Intersection at McCrimmon Parkway and NC 54 By Adding Additional Westbound Lanes and Improve Railroad Crossing • Engineering/Design and Permitting Under Way – Construction Expected to Start in 2016
NCDOT I-40 Interchange Projects • Aviation Parkway • Proposed Project Will Construct Aviation Northbound to I-40 Westbound Loop Entrance Ramp in Northeast Quadrant • Construction Preliminarily Scheduled for 2017-2018 • Airport Boulevard • Convert Existing Quadrant Interchange to a Diverging Diamond Interchange • Construction Preliminarily Scheduled for 2020-2021
