Why do people celebrate this holiday? • They celebrate this holiday because they believe that the hungry souls are coming back to life. They want the souls to be able to find the earth. They are celebrating the souls of their dead relatives and people who died without care or a proper burial. They don’t want the souls to get angry.
When does this holiday take place? • It takes place on the first week of July to the 14th.
What are some traditions of this holiday? • They put food and water in front of pictures for dead relatives. • They light bonfires and lanterns so the ghosts can find their way back to Earth. • They burn paper money for the ghosts.
Are there special decorations for this holiday? What are they? • They put up bonfires, lanterns, and joss sticks.
Are there special food eaten for this holiday? What are they? • They have a big feast with lots of Chinese food. • They eat meatballs,chicken, pork, vegetables, dessert, duck, and crab. • They also put out food for the ghosts.

Would you want to celebrate this holiday? No, I would not like to celebrate The Feast of the Hungry Ghosts because you don’t get any presents. Also,I don’t want to celebrate a holiday with ghosts in it.
