Any harvest needed rain this was the spring rains that brought these harvests God promised to come to his people as rain Hos 6:3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth. The Prophet Joel is the Prophet of Pentecost Joe 2:23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. Pentecost means 50 and represents Liberty, freedom and deliverance. 2Co 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. This means we have freedom and liberty from the Old covenant Bondages and ceremonialism of the Law. Every 50 years in Israel was a Jubilee year slaves were set free, debts cancelled and families were reunited and liberty was proclaimed throughout the Land by the sound of Jubilee trumpets.
FEAST OF PENTECOST FirstFruits and Pentecost both bypassed the weekly Sabbath FEAST OF FIRSTFRUITS Lev 23:11 And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it. FEAST OF PENTECOST Lev 23:15 'From the day after the Sabbath, the day you brought the sheaf of the wave offering, count off seven full weeks. Lev 23:16 Count off fifty days up to the day after the seventh Sabbath, and then present an offering of new grain to the LORD. These are two foundational events of the church the Resurrection of Christ and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit both took place of the first day of the week. That’s why we worship on Sunday!
FEAST OF PENTECOST The fact that these two Feast days were kept on the morrow after the Sabbath actually prophesied an end of Sabbath keeping of the mosiac Law FEAST OF FIRSTFRUITS Rom 14:5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a holy day, or of the new moon, or of the sabbathdays: The Feasts find their fullfillment in Christ Gal 4:10 Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. Gal 4:11 I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labor in vain. Hos 2:11 I will also cause all her mirth to cease, her feast days, her new moons, and her sabbaths, and all her solemn feasts.
FEAST OF PENTECOST Lev 23:17 From wherever you live, bring two loaves made of two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour, baked with yeast, as a wave offering of firstfruits to the LORD. Pentecost speaks of the church which has not reached sinless perfection in the leavened Bread Passover speaks of Christ and his sinlessness in the unleavened Bread
Pentecost loaves used two tenths of fine flour Lev 23:17 From wherever you live, bring two loaves made of two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour, baked with yeast, as a wave offering of firstfruits to the LORD. The Manna in the wilderness Two tenths of an ephah speaks of Double portion in exodus the manna in the wilderness Had two tenths deal in it . On the six day they collected a double portion of manna Exo 16:36 Now an omer is the tenth part of an ephah. The Feast of First Fruits used two tenth deals Lev 23:13 –two tenth deals of fine flour mingled with oil, represents the double portion of the firstborn. The New Testament Church is God’s Firstborn with a Double portion of his Spirit in and upon us. The 12 loaves of Shewbread on the Golden table used two tenth deals Lev 24:5 And thou shalt take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes thereof: two tenth deals shall be in one cake. Lev 24:6 And thou shalt set them in two rows, six on a row, upon the pure table before the LORD. Lev 24:7 And thou shalt put pure frankincense upon each row, that it may be on the bread for a memorial, even an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
FEAST OF PENTECOST In the two tables of stone on which the Ten commandments were written we also have the thought of two tenths, for the ten commandments find their fulfillment in the two commandments of Jesus in the New Testament. Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment. Mat 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. Mat 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
FEAST OF PENTECOST At Sinai we have Moses, fire, darkness, trumpet voice, quaking, thunder and lightning. This was Old Testament Pentecost. Mt Sinai Mt Zion Mt Zion Mt Zion At Mt Zion we have Jesus, tongues of fire, a rushing mighty wind, shaking and conviction. This was New Testament Pentecost.

FEAST OF PENTECOST The Old Testament “Pentecost” or Feast of weeks is said to be the birth of Judaism. During this feast Moses received the Torah. Pro 3:1My son, forget not my law;
FEAST OF PENTECOST Pentecost is not just about speaking in Tongues. It is the Birthday of the New Testament Church It is the Holy Spirit dwelling in and working with his people.
Relative to the Feast of Pentecost was the giving of the book of the covenant. The book of the covenant contained the civil and ceremonial laws besides the ten commandments. The Book and the people were sprinkled with Blood! It was the responsibility of The Priests and Levites teach the Law to the people. The New testament fulfillment is in the writing of the New Testament Books. The New testament books and believers are blood sprinkled, sprinkled by the blood of Jesus. It is the Spirit who applies the cleansing. It is the responsibility of The New Covenant Priests to teach Jesus' commandments to the people.
FEAST OF PENTECOST At Pentecost Israel was also called the Church in the Wilderness Act 7:37 This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear. Act 7:38 This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sinai, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:
At Mt Sinai on Pentecost Israel was given the Law of Moses The law was give to Moses written with the finger of God on tablets of stone. The finger of God is the Holy Spirit. Luk 11:20 But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.
The law written on tablets of stone on Mt Sinai (which means enmity) can never make us new creatures in Christ and pleasing to God. Rom 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
FEAST OF PENTECOST While Moses was receiving the Law the people were already worshipping a Golden calf. Their hearts were hard like stone
FEAST OF PENTECOST When they sinned under the Old Covenant Pentecost 3000 people were slain! Exo 32:25 And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:) Exo 32:26 Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD's side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him. word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men.
FEAST OF PENTECOST Exo 32:27 And he said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbor. Exo 32:28 And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men. The Levites
FEAST OF PENTECOST When the new Testament Day of Pentecost came 3000 were saved! Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Act 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. Joh 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
FEAST OF PENTECOST Act 2:40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. Act 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. Repent and be saved!
FEAST OF PENTECOST In the New covenant Pentecost God’s commands are not written on Stone Tablets but on our born again Fleshly Tablets of our Hearts Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
FEAST OF PENTECOST Heb 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: Heb 8:11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. Heb 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
FEAST OF PENTECOST Pentecost was also Israel’s betrothal unto God! Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they broke, although I was a husband unto them, saith the LORD: God Israel Pentecost
FEAST OF PENTECOST Hos 2:14 Therefore I am now going to allure her; I will lead her into the desert and speak tenderly to her. Hos 2:15 There I will give her back her vineyards, and will make the Valley of Achor a door of hope. There she will sing as in the days of her youth, as in the day she came up out of Egypt. Hos 2:16 In that day, declares the LORD, "you will call me 'my husband'; you will no longer call me 'my master. Hos 2:19 I will betroth you to me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion. Hos 2:20 I will betroth you in faithfulness, and you will acknowledge the LORD.
FEAST OF PENTECOST New Testament Pentecost was also our betrothal unto God! 2Co 11:2 For I am zealous for you with a godly eagerness and a divine jealousy, for I have betrothed you to one Husband, to present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
FEAST OF PENTECOST In A Jewish Betrothal a Ketubah was written and you were married but the marriage was not consummated
FEAST OF PENTECOST A perfect example of this is Joseph’s engagement to Mary. Mat 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. Mat 1:19 And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.
FEAST OF PENTECOST The New Testament is God’s Marriage Ketubah with the Church
FEAST OF PENTECOST Which will be consummated at the Lord’s coming Rev 19:7 Let us rejoice and be exceeding glad, and let us give the glory unto him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. Rev 19:8 And it was given unto her that she should array herself in fine linen, bright and pure: for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Rev 19:9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they that are bidden to the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are true words of God.
FEAST OF PENTECOST This is why unfaithful believers are called Adulterers and adulteresses Jas 4:4 You [are like] unfaithful wives [having illicit love affairs with the world and breaking your marriage vow to God]! Do you not know that being the world's friend is being God's enemy? So whoever chooses to be a friend of the world takes his stand as an enemy of God. I love you You’re the only one! No one will know! Pastor Joe said “Your sin will find you out”
FEAST OF PENTECOST Jas 4:5 Or do you suppose that the Scripture is speaking to no purpose that says, The Spirit Whom He has caused to dwell in us yearns over us and He yearns for the Spirit [to be welcome] with a jealous love? [Jer. 3:14; Hos. 2:19ff.] Jas 4:6 But He gives us more and more grace (power of the Holy Spirit, to meet this evil tendency and all others fully). That is why He says, God sets Himself against the proud and haughty, but gives grace [continually] to the lowly (those who are humble enough to receive it)
FEAST OF PENTECOST The New Testament Sign of Pentecost was and is tongues Act 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. Act 2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. Act 2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it satupon each of them. Act 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Many Believers stop at the feast of first fruits and never enter into Pentecost That’s so strange! I don’t understand tongues I don’t need tongues Speaking in tongues is the Gateway into the Supernatural for the Believer
FEAST OF PENTECOST This Blessing is for Believers Today Act 2:16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; Act 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: Act 2:18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: Act 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
