  2. What is a Cootie Catcher?? • A fun way to tell your friend his or her fortune

  3. What Do You Need? • Scissors • Paper • Pen or Markers

  4. Making Your Cootie Catcher • Step 1 – Fold the paper into a triangle

  5. Step 2 – Cut off the excess paper

  6. Step 3 – Open the paper to show your square

  7. Step 4 – Fold the paper in half again where there is no crease

  8. Step 5 – Open the paper and there should be a center point

  9. Step 6 – Fold all corners of the square into the center

  10. Step 7 – Flip the paper over so the folded sides are down. Then fold all the corners into the center again

  11. Step 8 – Write numbers 1-8 on each triangle fold

  12. Fold the paper twice: vertically and horizontally.

  13. Step 9 – Open each flap and write a fortune under each number

  14. Step 10 – Flip the Cootie Catcher over and write the name of a color, animal, person or place on the flap

  15. Step 11 – Flip the Catcher over so that the numbers are face up. Fold the square in half and put your thumbs and pointer fingers under the flaps

  16. Playing!! • Have a friend pick a color, animal, person or place • Move the flaps to spell out his or her choice • Open the Cootie Catcher to reveal the numbers and have your friend choose a number • Move the flaps that amount of times • Do this again • For the third number, open and reveal the answer written inside.
