Features of the ACRSP Undergraduate Training
Capacity Building • One of the strengths of the ACRSP is training of students (undergraduate & graduate) • A large number of students have received full or partial support to finish their university degrees • To date, there are 92 students being funded by AquaFish CRSP [34 are undergraduate students and 58 are graduate (47 MS and 15 PhD) students]
Capacity Building • Last 2nd semester, SY 2007-08, AquaFish CRSP funded 14 (41% of 34) undergraduate students who are taking BS Fisheries, a degree offered by the College of Fisheries at the Central Luzon State University (CLSU) in the Philippines • AquaFish CRSP at CLSU is also funding nine graduate students (7 MS and 2 PhD students) • Funding for these students (BS, MS or PhD) is not part of the budget items but since their degree programs do not entail substantial financial requirements to complete in the Philippines, deserving students are provided with full or partial support
