What is Kiva? • Kiva is a non-profit organization which helps to connect people through lending money to help with poverty throughout the world. On their website it states: “Leveraging the internet and a worldwide network of microfinance institutions, Kiva lets individuals lend as little as $25 to help create opportunity around the world". • The loans go to entrepreneurs who are looking to borrow money to help with their business.
Facts: • Since Kiva was founded in 2005: • 1,112,630 Kiva lenders • $541,511,700in loans • 98.97% Repayment rate • Kiva works with: • 244 Field Partners • 450 volunteers around the world • 73 different countries

Details: • Teams of two • Sign up with a friend or individually • If individual we will pair you • You will have about an hour to create a presentation with your partner, and then about ten minutes to present to our judges in the next room

Randy Isles on Project Management: Initiation and Planning • Tuesday, March 18 from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in 105 Business Building • Randy Isles is the Operating Partner for Seven Points Equity Partners, which is a private investment management firm • He is going to be speaking with us about defining the scope of the project, defining team roles, and developing a project plan that includes things like budgeting, scheduling, and determining needed resources. • Dress code is business casual. Lasertag • Thursday, March 20th, 8-9pm at What-A-Blast Lasertag (Sowers Street) • Join us for an hour of fun at what-a-blast laser tag! Compete against other members in 3 games. • This event is worth 5 social points.
Maple Harvest Festival • We will be helping volunteer at the Maple Harvest Festival at Shaver’s Creek • It will be worth 10 community service points • Please contact Ken Marrocco for further details.

Professional Development Event presented by Target • Monday, March 24 from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.in 117 Thomas Building • Jill Roberts, a campus ambassador with Target, will be speaking with our members about Target hiring opportunities • Jill will also lead us in some interactive games and activities, so be sure to make it to this great event by Target! • Dress code is business casual. Networking Expo hosted by PMA • Tuesday, March 25 from 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the Business Building Atrium • Our big networking event of the semester! We have some great companies coming out hiring for internships and full-time positions so make sure to bring your resume along and a big smile! • We need some volunteers to help out at the event! • Dress code is dressy business casual. Professional Development Event presented by Northwestern Mutual • Wednesday, March 26 from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.in 106 Business Building • Joanna Cole from Northwestern Mutual will be coming and speaking to our members about ethics in the workforce • This is sure to be a fun and interesting event, so please try and make it to hear this great speaker! • Dress code is business casual. PLS Site Visit • Friday, March 28 from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. in Cranberry, Pennsylvania • PLS is a third party logistics company. They will be offering a tour of the site and also treating us to lunch • Note: This will not be a university-approved absence, but professors may excuse you if you give them ample notice. • PMA is looking for drivers for this trip. Amazon Fulfillment Center Site Visit • Friday, April 4th in Breinigsville, PA • This day trip will give members of PMA the chance to see the inner workings of Amazon, the largest online retailer in the world • Note: This will not be a university-approved absence, but professors may excuse you if you give them ample notice. • PMA is looking for drivers for this trip.
