  8. Dress Code • No sleeveless shirts • No bedroom attire • No see-through and/or transparent tops or bottoms • NO SAGGING PANTS ALLOWED. Pants are to be worn at waistline • Failure to comply with the dress code will result in students being sent home to change and penalties.

  9. Dress Code Policy Offenses • 1st Offense: Warning • 2nd Offense: Students will be required to attend Saturday Academy • 3rd Offense: Students will receive one (1) day OSS • Additional Offenses: Principal’s discretion based upon his investigation

  10. Cell Phone Policy Cell phones and other electronic devices (MP3 players, iPods, etc.) that are visible or heard will be confiscated. Students who refuse to give up their phones/electronic devices will receive OSS. Purnell Swett High School does not assume any liability for the loss or theft of any cell phone or electronic device. In the event of theft, students should file a report with the School Resource Officer.

Cell Phone Policy Offenses 1st Offense- Teacher confiscates phone/electronic device turns it into office and student may pick up phone at the end of the day. 2nd Offense- Teacher confiscates phone/electronic device and parent will have to pick up (NO EXEMPTION) 3rd Offense- One (1) day OSS 4th Offense- Three (3) day OSS for each offense

  16. Attention 9th, 10th, and 11th Graders PSAT (It’s only offered once a year) Wednesday October 16, 2013 Media Center $15.00 See Ms. Demetrice in the Media Center to register Deadline: October 14, 2013 Don’t miss out on this opportunity!!!!

  17. A NC State Representative will be here on October 9th at 10:00 am. Any senior or junior interested in attending this information session please sign up with Ms. Leslie in guidance.

  20. Any student in grades 9 thru 12 that is interested in applying for the Student of Excellence Scholarship needs to see their counselor for an application. Applications are due to your counselor by December 3.

  26. The Indian Education VISION volunteer program is accepting applications for Native American students, grades 9-12 who are interested in volunteering in Indian communities. Please a see a YDS for more information
