  8. D3S ID / D3S PRD vs D3M • 132mm x 80mm x 23.5mm dimensions • 0.52 lbs (237 g) weight • IP53 ingress protection (ANSI N42.32 section 7.4) • 12 hour battery life • Audio and vibration alarm on Android phone • Established SIGMA platform and familiarity • 122mm x 80mm x 23mm dimensions • 0.50 lbs (261 g) weight • IP65 ingress protection (ANSI N42.32 section 7.4) • 24 hour battery life • Audio and vibration alarm on device 8

  9. D3M Key Features • Gamma-ray detector • CsI(Tl) • 7% resolution at 662KeV energy range • 5 cps/μR/h (500 cps/μSv/h) at 662KeV • 30 keV to 3 MeV • 10 µR/h (0.1 µSv/h) to 100 R/h (1 Sv/h) dose rate range • Neutron detector • Non-ᶟHe • 9 cps in a 1 neutron per cm² field • Gamma rejection better than 10-7 (ANSI N42.34 section 6.7) • −20°C to 50°C operational temperature range • 24 hour battery life • USB or induction charging

  10. What is D3S ID?

  11. A discreet wearable RIID that’s A fraction of the size A fraction of the weight A fraction of the price 11

  12. Three-second rolling average to detect and identify sources of radiation • User adjustable time for confirmation mode • Rapid, visible, audible and tactile alert/ alarm • Classifies and categorises into Industrial, Medical, NORM, SNM, helping the user to take appropriate action • Low false alarm rate • Includes Wide Area Search and Confirmation Mode functions • DARPA tested and approved (DARPA-SIGMA Program) Lightweight design Heavyweight performance

  13. Designed for in-field deployment

  14. Applications: First Responders Sea Ports and Borders Airports Event Security Environmental Monitoring

  15. The power to make the right decisions about nuclear threats in seconds • The detection algorithm provides substantial enhancements in the detection and identification of low activity shielded threats, masked threats and nuisance isotopes • Extensively tested and characterised in multiple DNDO and DARPA programs

  16. Gamma-ray detector • CsI(Tl) • 7% resolution at 662KeV Gamma energy range • 10,000 cps maximum Gamma throughput • 30 keV to 3 MeV • 20 µSv/h (2.0 mR/h) at 662 keV dose rate • 1 Sv/h (100 R/h) at 662 keV with high dose module • Neutron detector • Non-ᶟHe • 9 cps in a 1 neutron per cm² field • Easy single button operation with LED indicator • Instant reachback • 12 hour battery life (24 h with add-on battery pack) • USB or induction charging

  17. Isotope library far exceeds ANSI and international standards • 42 radionuclides – 22 more than ANSI N42.34 standard • 69 unique signatures which accounts for shielding and mixed configurations • Discriminates between Medical, NORM, Industrial and SNM classes Notes: *Mandatory radionuclides as defined in ANSI N42.34 **Beta+ emitting radionuclide ***Beta- emitting radionuclide ****Neutron emitting radionuclide

  18. Why Neutron Detector? • Many radioactive materials emit gamma radiation • Low energy gamma rays may be easy to shield and hard to detect • Materials such as nuclear fuels and weapons grade material are low gamma ray emitters, but emit neutrons • Neutrons are harder to shield • The neutron detector increases the chance of detecting radioactive materials with lower energy gamma ray

  19. Search Mode Mode • Continuous gamma dose rate and neutron count monitoring • Isotope identification in 3 seconds, updated every second • Mobile phone annunciates and vibrates • Status and notifications (visual and audio) • Alarm data automatically saved and displayed in Alarm History Alarm history Isotope identified Gamma dose rate Neutron counts Time graph D3S status (temp, battery % etc) Isotope annunciation

  20. Confirmation Mode Mode • Isotope ID within 30 seconds – 4 times faster than ANSI N42.34 • Scan time of up to 5 mins, updated every 30 secs • Gamma dose rate and neutron count updated every second from start of scan • Optimum distance indicator to assist user in detector placement • Reachback capability for efficient adjudication Isotope identified Start scan Optimum distance indicator Reachback capability Isotope annunciation
