Extrapolation of survival function(Hwang & Wang 1999, Fang et al. 2007) • Most available cohorts were followed for a short period of time, or, 5-10 years: High censored rate (>50%) • No parametric method available • Development of semi-parametric method for extrapolation by borrowing information from vital statistics (or general population)
