Development Objectives Increase Croatia’s competitiveness and trade (a) improve efficiency at Rijeka Port by (i) assisting in privatization of LR and port operations, (ii) rehabilitating infrastructure and replacing equipment, (iii) improving financial performance and reducing Government contributions; (b) Improve land connections by (i) constructing Western section of the Rijeka Bypass and port connector road; (ii) rehabilitating the Krk bridge; (iii) rehabilitating of Zagreb-Macelj motorway Croatia - Rijeka Gateway Project

  5. Development Objectives (cont.) (c) Improve the port/urban interface by (i) redeveloping a port area for urban purposes, (ii) improving environmental conditions; (d) Increase the administrative efficiency of the road sector by (i) assisting HAC in obtaining a bond rating and ISO certification; (ii) assisting HC to implement the pavement and bridge management systems Croatia - Rijeka Gateway Project

Project Components – Rijeka Port (1) Civil Works: Passenger Terminal, Demolition of Warehouses, Reconstruction of Wood Terminal, and Vienna Pier, Construction of Zagreb-West Pier, Rehabilitation of port infrastructure and superstructure Redundancy Payments/Training/Social Program for Luka Rijeka Croatia - Rijeka Gateway Project
