Cocktails There’s nothing quite like a tasty mixed drink to help you enjoy a meal or happy hour out. Bee’s Sting Without a doubt the most pleasant Bee’s Sting you’ll ever get. Before the Jim Beam Black Bourbon turns on that lovely full-body space heater, the Thai
chili-infused honey and Ancho Reyes Ancho Chili Liqueur is just the right blend of sweet and heat. A squeeze of fresh lemon finishes it all off. Shanghai Nights Another eye-opener, this beauty starts off with Opihr Oriental Spiced Gin, accentuated by Thai basil, a hot pop of fresh jalapeno, and a snap of ginger, all smoothed out with fresh lime. A tremendous Asian fusion accompaniment to sushi in Meridian Idaho. Wines Colder weather calls for fuller-bodied wines with a greater balance of tannins. So mostly reds. There is a notable exception though… La Crema Pinot Noir La Crema makes delicious wines. It just does. And Pinot Noir is a delicious varietal. It just is. So drink this wine for a warming and delicious experience. Alma Mora Malbec This excellent Malbec is a red wine, so it meets that criterion as an excellent cold-weather wine. Enjoy a glass or two while wearing your favorite sweater to truly embrace the season. Sho Chiku Bai Sake Ling & Louie’s Asian Bar and Grill serves their terrific Sho Chiku Bai sake the traditional way—hot. And there’s nothing like a bracing sip of sake smoothed by warmth. Beer As is the case with wine, chilly conditions require hearty, robust beers. Guinness Irish Dry Stout Guinness is a very hearty beer. Dark as it is outside, warming and cozy as it is inside, Guinness is as much a cultural tradition as it is a beer. Odell Brewing Co. Cutthroat Porter Odell Brewing Company’s use of dark-roasted malts gives this full, rich, fantastic porter its great color and flavor. The hints of chocolate and coffee make it even warmer.
