  11. CDNL’s Engagement with Tunis WSIS The world’s national libraries are the guardians of the digital information produced in an information society and the cultural heritage expressed in the nation’s digital documents. National libraries in all countries have a mandate to collect and preserve this cultural heritage and to make it accessible both now and to future generations. It is a matter of the highest importance to the national libraries of the world that all countries develop coordinated national policies for creating inclusive information societies and preserve and provide access to our digital heritage with the commitment shown to our nations printed archives. In this spirit of partnership and digital solidarity the national libraries of the world support the World Summit on the Information Society.
