  2. What is the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program? • The Olweus Bullying Prevention Program (OBPP) is the most researched and most widely known program of its kind. • OBPP is a whole-school program that addresses bullying at the schoolwide, classroom, individual and community levels. • Schools that have used the program have seen significant reductions in bullying. • The program is a long-term solution that becomes part of how a school “does school.” • OBPP is geared to students in grades K-12.

  3. The Main Steps in Implementating OBPP • Each school establishes a Bullying Prevention Coordinating Committee (BPCC). • The BPCC gets trained by a certified Olweus Trainer; the trainer mentors the school monthly for a minimum of one year, 18-24 months preferred. The trainer can be a school district person or an outside trainer. • Each school administers the Olweus Bullying Questionnaire (OBQ) to all students Grades 3 - 12. • Each school BPCC examines their school policies and procedures, in conjunction with district level leadership and policies.
