Introduction In a newly constructed home or even your existing home, one of the things that you don’t want to witness ever in your life is a wet and leaking bathroom. Unfortunately, this happens in most of the bathrooms in Australia for unknown reasons or maybe some curse that this country has been carrying on its shoulders. The good thing is that we have techniques that can help us tackle this problem effectively and stay rid of it for a long, long time.
A Wet Area Clear or Wet Area Speed Seal Clear • A roll of masking tape or painters tape • Small amount of Mineral Turpentine • Some soft, clean cloth • Caulking Gun • A blade or knife • A Spatula
Steps to perform shower sealing • The first step involves clearing or removing the existing sealant. • This can be done by the knife that is to be pierced deep inside it and run all over the area that requires resealing. • The sealant removal pattern should be long pieces getting peeled away to expose the joints between the tiles. • If it is difficult to remove, you should not hesitate from trying a silicon sealant remover, but as you do this, it’s better to follow the instructions mentioned on the pack.
The second step should be initiated as soon as the sealant is removed and this would include soaking the clean piece of cloth in mineral turpentine and clean the entire area exposed after old shower sealing removal. • As you do this, just ensure that all the traces of existing silicone are removed completely from the area. • Now take a dry piece of cloth to clean the area and drying it completely.
