  2. The Beginning http://blogs.colette.fr/joshcheuse/files/2009/05/pythagoras.jpg Pythagoras was born on the island of Samos around 568 B.C.He led a society that was half religious and half scientific

  3. What he Believed That the soul can rise to union with the divine. That philosophy can be used for spiritual purification. That according to him the perfect number is 10.That at its deepest level, reality is mathematical in nature.

  4. His Contributions to Math His Contributions to Math The Babylonians created the theorem 1000 years before he proved it. Although Pythagoras proved it to..he was recognized five centuries after his death in the writing of Cicero and Plutarch.Of his own work nothing is truly known. http://www.mathguide.cowwwm/lessons/pic-pythagorasT.gif

  5. His Death Although no one is for sure what happened. Here are two theories as to how he died. 1)That it happened around 500 B.C...and that there was an uprising against the Pythagoreans which led to the city of Corton to be burned. And that somehow he escaped but was caught and killed after refusing to cross a bean field. 2) Or that he managed to escape to Metapontum ( wich is on the coast of Italy ), were he lived until he died from starvation.
