  9. DANGEROUS TOYS • Toys made of toxic chemicals • Toys with sharp edges • Toys dangerous of causing injury • Toys having cords and strings, • Toys with strangulation hazard • Toys with choking hazard • Toys with small parts • Toys with loud noise • Toys with lead and cadmium based paints

  10. TOY TRADE • Organised Sector 1 Billion dollars. • Unorganised Sector 1.5 Billion dollars. • Chinese toy alone account for Rs.240.63 crores.

  11. Almost all countries have some form of regulations to prohibit unsafe toy entering into the market. • There is also International Code ISO 8124 in this regard. • Even South Africa and Thailand has mandatory toy safety standards. • But we have no law

CONSTITUTION OF INDIA • Article 21 - Right to Life Includes right to heath and protection against any harm • Article 39 - The health and strength of the tender age of children are not abused.The childhood and youth are protected against exploitation • Article 47 - Duty of the state to raise the standard of living and to improve public health.
