NIRANTHARA JYOTHI SCHEME • Niranthara Jyothi Project is a prestigious scheme of Government of Karnataka, to provide 24 hrs 3 phase power supply to non-agricultural loads like domestic, commercial, water supply, street light, rural industries, milk dairies etc., in rural areas by segregating the agricultural loads, which is a boon to the rural economy. • Objectives : • This will enable BESCOM to give 24X7 supply to Non-Agricultural loads in Rural areas • Reduction in transformer failure • Increase in metered sales • Reduction in technical losses • Improved load management The plan of implementation and progress is shown separately. STAGES OF IMPLEMENTATION • Phase I • 25 Lots, 260 feeders, 19 taluks. • Project cost :Rs 355.85 cr. • Expected completion : June-2013. • Phase II • 24 lots, 289 feeders, 22 taluks. • Project cost :Rs 385.71 cr. • Work Award issued for 6 Lots, 86 feeders , DWA issued in Nov 2011, Jan-2012 ,works under progress. • Work Award issued for 10 Lots ,96 feeders , DWA issued in Oct, Nov 2012,Works under progress. • For the 93 feeders, LOI is issued and works under progress.
