The Strategies for Action • Establishment of a database of West African migrants, their skills and potentials • Contributions of West African diplomatic missions • Utilisation of the potentials  of Information and Communication Technology • Good migration policies • Volunteer/Mentoring schemes • Partnership working and implementation of a regional action plan • Promote markets for West African products

  6. Conclusions • Movement of people from one country to another will not cease. • Developmental efforts involving the Diasporas must be coordinated regionally • Address ‘push factors’ to get the ‘pull effects’ • Brain drain →Brain enhancement →Collateral effects.
