This tactic is a must to know for it is often the key to victory. • You want to create a ‘net’ over the enemy king and then tighten the net to this position or on any edge of the board. Once the net limits the enemy king to an edge, force it to move opposite your king (away from your rook) and move the rook to the rank his king is in for checkmate. For example: 1. …Ra2, 2.
