Setup time to discuss each other’s roles and share formal written minutes of meetings with pluses and minuses • If you are looking for partners, take friends/known persons as partners. Again – have clear written contract prior to starting the venture. • Equity is the most expensive thing you can let go in business. Give it out carefully only to those who truly deserve it. • If you want to expand and get external funding, make sure that the investors just don’t put money but also add value by giving you contacts and helping you grow the business. • Respect people’s time. Don’t expect to get free advice/help all the time. • Get solid advisors/board members to mentor you. If you can’t pay cash, please offer them equity for their advice (typically 1 to 5% in a startup)
