  2. Landforms: The natural features of the Earth’s surface such as mountains, valleys, plains, etc. Landscape: Landforms + vegetation (plant) cover, water, ice and rock.

  3. Landforms may be described in the following ways: • Elevation – height above sea level • Relief – Difference in elevation between points on the surface. • Gradient – Steepness of slopes. • Geology – Types of rocks.

  4. Canada’s Landform Regions • Divided into regions to make it easier to study. • Classified based on the following characteristics: - age of rock - type of rock - relief - gradient - process that shaped the area
