It is five times more prevalent than asthma, and seven times more common than hay fever.
Although more prevalent in lower socioeconomic groups, it is not limited to children of poverty. All Children are at risk.
Dental disease affects children’s ability to eat properly, grow, attend school and learn.
Management of early childhood caries must be a shared responsibility, and access to care considerations should look beyond the dental setting

Complicated medical condition involving the mouth and gums

When indicated, seek assistance from your Health Integration team and/or Healthy Community (EPSDT) staff to assist with:
Scheduling appointments
Transportation
Child care
Translation etc
