  1. Scripture Text Luke 8:26-40And Jesus asked him, "What is your name?" And he said, "Legion"; for many demons had entered him.Matthew 8:28-34Mark 5:1-20

  2. What the Demons Understand

  3. Demons understand who Jesus Is Matt:16:13 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” 14 So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.

  4. The Reverence Jesus Is Due • Philippians 2: …in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of • a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. • 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

  5. Demons Understand The Power of theWords of Jesus Matthew 17:5 “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” John 12: 47And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. 48 He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day. 49 For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. 50 And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak.”

  6. Demons understand Jesus has power to Torment Jude 6 And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day; Rev. 20: 10The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where 2the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

  7. Demons Understood To Whom The Pigs Belonged 1 Chronicles 29 13: Now therefore, our God, We thank You and praise your glorious name. 14: But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from You, and of your own we have given you.

  8. Demons understand their condition Matt. 8:29 … “Torment us before the time”2 Corinthians 10: 12For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. James 1: 22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

  9. Who are those who don’t understand as the Demons? Acts 7: 54 When they heard these things they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with their teeth…57 Then they cried out with a loud voice, stopped their ears, and ran at him with one accord; 58 and they cast him out of the city and stoned him. Acts 24: 25 Now as he reasoned about righteousness, self-control, and the judgment to come, Felix was afraid and answered, “Go away for now; when I have a convenient time I will call for you.”
