  4. History… • The origins of the Internet by United States government in the 1960s to via computer networks. • As of Jan 2014, more than 3 billion people used internet. • The Internet in Pakistan has been available since the early 1990s i.e. (1992-3)

  5. What is internet….? • It is a network of networks that consists of millions of private, public, academic, business, and government networks, of local to global scope, that are linked by a broad array of electronic, wireless, and optical networking technologies.

  6. Role of internet in nursing…. • Internet have play important in the field of nursing . • Some of them are : • learnt about different techniques • New researches • News about newly inverted equipment • Diagnoses of different diseases • Information sites

  7. Cont….. • Learnt about different techniques : Through internet nurses improves their skill ability by watching some videos ,e.G. Blood pressure , bed making etc • New researches: Some web site are present about new researches of nursing field . such as www.Nlm.Nih.Gov www.Nursingadvocacy.Org etc.

Conti… • News about newly inverted equipment: Internet also help the nurses to read news about the newly inverted equipment such as newly inverted sugar test machines etc. • Diagnoses of different diseases : Different diseases have different types of diagnoses , diagnosis of the patient easily by researches on the internet which may be time saving.

  9. Conti…. • Informative Sites: there are many informative site about many disease which help us to diagnoses a patient a easily and also save the time. Such as www.familydoctor.org www.healthfinder.gov etc.

  10. Disadvantages…. • Due to internet nurses wasted there time by watching movies on internet. • There may be wrong information on the some web site.

  11. Conclusion… • Every thing have to side i.e. one is positive side other is negative site , its depend upon you what side you choice . • According to a survey of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners 98% nurses wants that internet in this field .
