& Hope Faith • Hebrews 11:1-6, 13-16 • Without it, we can’t please God. • Our faith rests on things we can’t see: • There is a God. • Those things recorded in Scripture. • Primarily that God’s Son came to earth, lived, died, and rose from the dead. • That God has prepared an eternal home for the faithful.
& Hope Faith • 2 Corinthians 5:1-6 • 1 John 3:1-3 • Focused on the future. • Centered around the resurrection of the dead and the return of Jesus Christ. • This hope motivates us to live a certain way. • This hope stabilizes our lives and causes us to persevere.
& Hope Faith • 1 Corinthians 13:8-13 • Faith and Hope are not eternal • There will be a day when our faith will be removed and replaced by sight. • There will be a day when our hope will be realized.
Faith Removed & Hope Realized • A Day when Faith will be unnecessary • Faith in God. • Faith in the Son of God. • Faith that diligent service would result in reward. • Faith that our mortal, corruptible, earthly bodies will be traded in for immortal, incorruptible, eternal heavenly bodies.
Faith Removed & Hope Realized • A Day when Hope will be realized • Hope of a beautiful place called Heaven. • Hope to be reunited with all the faithful. • Hope to be free of the sorrows of the flesh. • Hope to be forever united with God.
