Advance 2006-8 • 2 year project to ascertain Advanced Apprentices progression aspirations • Exit interviews asked about at future higher level training aspirations • 52% intended to move up to level 4 within 3 years • 72% of private wbl providers AA’s in this category
Then follow up study A2A • An in depth study of the seven training providers with the highest progression rates • Clear split between the sectors delivered by private providers and colleges • Sought to identify what were the key messages in getting learners to progress • 6 of the 7 providers have TQS
Employer Focus • All saw the employer as being the key player in determining future training • Discussions with employer before learner started at level 2 meant they had already planned out a progression to level 4 + • All gave learners selective IAG to ensure they followed the skills path the employer wanted
