Demo Try using explanation to educate the customer about how this product works Undamaged disk In an undamaged disc the CD player’s laser beam enters the CD on the play side, travels through the clear plastic layer, picks up information from the data layer and reflects to the CD player’s detector. Damage on the play side (shiny side) can interfere with the laser beam before it reaches the data layer, preventing the player from reading correctly or at all, resulting in audible skipping, freezing and discs that won’t load. To play a CD with an imperfection or scratch is like looking through a dirty or cracked window. The CD players ability to “see” the data is reduced and impaired even though the data itself is fine.
