Why do you need an E-learning? • It’s a technology driven and complex world where technology is the lifeblood of everyday life • E-learning makes learning exciting, engaging and compelling. • Learning is a social activity, powerful and enduring learning experiences can be achieved, not just through content, but through the use of online communities and networks. • “Learning through reflection and discussion“-learners are encouraged to communicate, collaborate and share knowledge • E – Learning is inclusive accommodating innumerable variables, yet providing learner autonomy.

HISTORY OF ID.. • Instructional design (ID) models grew out of the teaching profession and came to fruition during World War II when the nation had to be quickly trained and troops mobilized to run the equipment of war. • A combination of face-to-face, hands-on, individualized, and group units of instruction were developed by the armed forces using ID models to effectively train massive numbers of troops. • Today there are many ID models- ADDIE, DICK-CAREY..
