The days of His flesh, Heb. 5:7-9 • The “days of his flesh” equipped Christ to be the perfect sacrifice for sins • He lived by faith (prayers and supplications), 5:7 • He possessed godly fear, 5:7 • He was obedient, enduring suffering, 5:8 (Lk. 22:28); Heb. 4:14-16 • The cross, Heb. 2:9-10 DEITY & HUMANITY

  10. The days of His flesh, Heb. 5:7-9 • His sacrifice for our sins was possible because he became human, Hebrews 2:9; 10:5-7, 10 • A body was prepared for the Son • For the purpose of doing God’s will (dying for our redemption) Heb. 9:26; John 1:29 DEITY & HUMANITY

How this affects us • Without this belief we will die in our sins, John 8:23-24, 58 (20:31) • Christ did not give up the powers of deity when he became human • To minimize his deity is false doctrine • Jesus chose not to sin, Heb. 4:14-16 • To minimize his humanity is false doctrine DEITY & HUMANITY
