E N D
Eric Gagné As a married father of a nine year old boy - who happens to keeps my work-life balance more or else in check - I enjoy any pastime that involves power tools, water or charcoal. I also heavily rely on fishing if I need some extra time to reflect and reduce my stress levels, so you can assume that I fish often. As for my career bio, I had opportunities to work at Industry Canada and Natural Resources Canada on various file ranging from sustainable development, change management and science advice before I became the Director of Science Policy at Environment Canada (EC). Given my personal values (protecting the environment), interests (science policy) and academic background (M.Sc in Environmental Science) I couldn’t ask for a better job description… Well, that was until I was offered the opportunity to act in my DGs position. Key challenges I face on a daily basis include balancing the delivery of evidence based products for senior management, often within unreasonable time-frames, while trying to keep a highly productive team motivated and “happy”. In addition to my day job, my corner of the desk is filled with activities that introduce learning organization activities within EC (coach facilitator, engaged in the Management Community, mentor, and design and facilitate events and workshops). You can find me in GEDS, LinkedIn, and Twitter (Eric_Gagne_EC).
