  5. WHY REGISTER?

    Your MMC registration gives you the LICENSCE to practice in the State of Maharashtra. (PRIVATE,PUBLIC,MEDICAL TEACHERS & GOVT DRS) Non registration or Non renewal is liable for punishment under The Indian Medical Council Act,(102 of 1956) & The Maharashtra Medical Practitioners Act,1961

RENEWAL OF MMC REGISTRATION Under the MMC Act 1965 Sec 23 the Registrar shall call upon all registered medical practitioners to make an application to the registrar for the continuance of their names in the registry at an interval ofevery 5 years of initial registration For all MMBS/DMS doctors Renewal Procedure has to be done 2 months prior ( 1-1-12 to 29-2-12 )
  7. WHO HAVE TO RENEW? THREE CATEGORY OF DOCTORS Renewed in 2007-HAVE TO DO IT NOW Fresh registrations after 2007-No need Not renewed in 2007-Contact MMC office- Late Fee (Rs 100/Month), Indemnity Bond SPECIAL VIP DRS-NOT REGISTERED/NOT RENEWED ANYTIME-Amnesty scheme-after march 2012
  8. CREDIT HOURS CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION 6 HOURS/YEAR-30 HOURS/5 YEARS GR issued in 2010-so 12 hours reqd for last 2 years. COMPULSORY FOR ALL RENEWALS

MCI Rules and Regulations1.2Maintaining good medical practice 1.2.2 Membership in Medical Society: For the advancement of his profession, a physician should affiliate with associations and societies of allopathic medical professions and involve actively in the functioning of such bodies. 1.2.3 A Physician should participate in professional meetings as part of Continuing Medical Education programmes, for at least 30 hours every five years, organized by reputed professional academic bodies or any other authorized organisations. The compliance of this requirement shall be informed regularly to Medical Council of India or the State Medical Councils as the case may be.

CREDIT HOURS-GUIDELINES Author/Editor of Published Medical Textbook - 6 Author of Chapter Published in Medical Textbook - 4 Papers Published in National/International Index Journals Original Article - 6 Case Report - 4 Letter to Editor - 2 Papers Published in National/International Conferences Guest Speaker/Resource person/Paper,Poster Presentation in International Conf - 6 Delegate in International/National Conf organised by National Professional Association(ASI/API) - 6 Outside CME/Symposia organised by Recognised Professional Bodies - 2 (NEED VERIFICATION FROM MMC MEMBER/REGISTRAR)

CREDIT HOURS Those NOT having required 12 hours at present Do it before 29 th Feb Many MOP UP CMEs planned After 29/2,special drive upto next 4 months,withpenalty,to complete 12 credit hours At present no forms will be accepted without 12 credit hours Lost/Unreceived Certificates-Contact local organisers

  16. Methods of Renewal of Registration

    Physical registration Registration through Accredited organizations-IMA Online registration
  17. Physical registration Download the renewal of registration form from MMC site. Fill the form and physically submit it personally/by post/thro authorised representative, with a Demand Draft of Rs. 500 favouring MMC and proof of having completed 12 hours of accredited credit hours of attendance of CME programs along with necessary photographs and documents at MMC office.
  18. Online registration The E-way: fill the details of renewal on accessing your individual page on the MMC site. Upload your photograph and scanned copy of credit hour certificates, pay your fees online via credit/debit card (Rs. 500 + service charge) and receive confirmation of payment directly online.
  19. Renewal through IMA Branches Submit the completed renewal form (download from the net or collect from IMA office) along with Rs. 500 + administration charges (to be decided by IMA office) by cash at IMA Branch and submit the original credit hour certificates with photocopies, photographs and necessary documents to IMA Branch office.

BROAD OUTLINE OF PLAN FOR RENEWAL OF REGISTRATIONS AT DISTRICT IMA LEVEL 1) IMA should have its own premises with adequate space,office n safety of records 2) Special comt for this purpose to be constituted with presd,sec,senior sincere member,presd/sec elect,representative of med offc,medical teachers and respective area MMC member,to help n guide. 3) Agency with adequate infrastructure n expertise to be appointed to outsource the physical and online work of renewal-Fee sharing model 4) As we will be doing renewals of all drs,irrespective of ima membership or not,Alldrs to be given information and details of procedure/timings n adress of ima for renewal by way of emails/sms/paper ads/circulars to civil surgeon,dean,dho,corporation health off etc (To b done by agency)
  21. 5) Daily rotation duty of 2 comt members at prescribed time with supervision & review daily by all comt members on agency and daily work. 6) Undertaking to be taken by state sec from all branch presd,sec to do this work resposibly 7) Online work to be done where ever posible but physical verification n renewal work can be done manually also(which will be easier in many peripheral places) 8) Display procedure n names ,nos of comt members in ima 9) Have separate registers for this,print extra receipt books.Twoseperate receipts to be given,1 of 500 for mmc and 2 nd of imaadministratveexpense,eg, Rs 100 from ima members,200 from non members 10) Contact persons name,nos of state ima n mmc in case of difficulties.
  22. PROCEDURE FOR LOCAL IMA BRANCH-MMC RENEWAL CIRCULAR ATTENTION ! IMPORTANT !! Dear Colleagues, Our MMC registration renewal is due upto 29th Feb. 2012. It is mandatory to all doctors who had renewed their registration in 2007 or have done fresh registration 5 years back. Failure to renew registration is liable for strict punishment under MMC Act. Sending herewith renewal application form, data sheet and relevant information. Please fill the form correctly and submit it to IMA- Dhule with the necessary documents and fees. Kindly note that incomplete forms / documents and certificates with less than 12 credit hours will NOT be accepted. REQUISITE DOCUMENTS :- 3 latest passport size photographs with name and registration number written on reverse side. 1 attested photocopy of previous MMC registration certificate. Original & photocopy of MMC I- card/Receipt of DD/Letter of MMC abt renewal in 2007 Original & photocopies of the CME certificate mentioning number of credit points ( 12 points compulsory.)
  23. MMC RENEWAL CIRCULAR FEES & MODE OF PAYMENT :- MMC Registration Renewal fees Rs. 500/- in cash or demand draft drawn in favour of Registrar, Maharashtra Medical Council, payable at Mumbai. Administrative fees – To be paid in cash Rs. 100/- for IMA members Rs. 200 /- for IMA members CREDIT POINTS- VERIFICATION :- Assigned to following authorities Dhule IMA verification committee - For IMA & non- IMA members. Dr. Ravi Wankhedkar, MMC EC member - For all doctors Deans of Medical college – For teachers/ PG Students working in their institutes.

MMC RENEWAL CIRCULAR SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM :- The duly filled application form, with 2 Photocopies of the form along with documents, Datasheet and Fees is to be submitted at IMA Office DHULE . SCHEDULE From- 19 th January till 31 st January,2012 Timings- 3.00 PM - 6.00 PM (Working Days) 10.00 AM- 1.00 PM Sunday 2.00 PM – 6.00 PM Place – IMA House, Dhule KINDLY NOTE Medical teachers & PG students should submit Bonafide certificate of Dean to claim exemption of 4 credit hours Those doctors who have not completed 12 credit hours should do the same till 29 Feb,and then submit the form.   25. FLOW CHART FOR DR AT IMA Fixed timing for renewals at IMA HOUSE till 29-2 -12 At IMA House-Banner detailing pointwise procedure/4 Desks/Stationary/Computer etc MOVEMENT AT IMA.. Counter 1..Entry register with issue of token Counter 2..IMA comt member to verify the certs .. Counter 3..Payment counter with issue of reciept.. Counter 4...Agency person will take fotos,enter in register & give acknowledgement receipt... Agency person can then enter data online after verification by IMA officials  Daily money to be paid in MMCaccount by IMA MMC will send smart card to respective dr directly.

ONLINE PROCESS Online process for IMA branch Appointed agency connected with MMC agency Separate password & Username to IMA branch & Agency Daily uploading of data by agency with fotos Daily respective payment by IMA thro bank transfer Once payment is received by MMC it will inform mmc agency online MMC agency will transfer data to I Card agency I Card agency will make I cards and send to respective doctor directly
  27. Also we find from our records that many members have not renewed their registration in 2007. It is mandatory for every medical practitioner to register with MMC if you are practicing in the state of Maharashtra. Legally it is a criminal offence and the courts take a very harsh view if you are not registered with MMC and you will be bracketed as a quack if your name does not appear on the Council Registry. MMC has made special provisions for those members who have not renewed their registration in 2007. You shall be required to submit necessary forms and documents along with affidavit and indemnity bond and monetary penalty to renew your registration (Details are on MMC site). Those members who have not renewed their registration in 2007 shall not be able to get renewal in 2012 (since their name does not appear on MMC registry) unless they have completed all formalities of getting their 2007 renewal updated.

  28. Additional Qualification/Change of Name

    The new MMC identity card will be printed with your post graduate qualifications/changed name registered with MMC hence members are requested to immediately apply for additional qualification certificate of their recognized degrees/diploma

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATION Renewal is of Basic MBBS degree Those not done add qualf-SHOULD do it now- NEW I CARD Form for additional qualification-Website PG Certificate Photocopy (VERIFIED) Rs-120 DD in name of Registrar MMC payable at Mumbai Bonafide Certificate of Dean(PG College) Previous Registration Certificate photocopy Original I-Card SEND DIRECTLY & SEPERATELY TO MMC DO RENEWAL THRO IMA SIMULTANEOUSLY

CHANGE OF NAME Those not done should do it now Application on plain paper Marriage certificate photocopy Affidavit on Rs 100 stamp paper or Govt gazette of change in name Rs 170 DD-registrar MMC-Mumbai Original MMC Reg Certificate & Original I- card SEND DIRECTLY & SEPERATELY TO MMC DO RENEWAL THRO IMA SIMULTANEOUSLY

    Do not panic Individuals can choose their methodology of registration In special circumstances doctors can petition the President or individual Council Members to facilitate their renewal
