  4. Preproduction • Storyboarding • write the story • plan out the shots • Equipment Check • actors/actresses • props • location

  5. Principle Photography • Directing • chance to show off leadership • interaction with actors, ability to share a vision • lead by example • Shooting • always hold your camera upright • be aware of techniques, follow storyboard • Acting

  6. Postproduction • Editing • it’s like putting a puzzle together!! • pieces of the movie you shot, overlay music, add special effects and sound effects, etc etc. • usually most tedious and time consuming • Reshooting • try to avoid this with good planning!

  7. Four types of movies • Informational • Slideshow • Animation • Storytelling

  8. Informational • Simplest video to make and edit • Mostly talking to an audience straight to the camera • Meant to get a point across

  9. Slideshow • Simple, easy to edit • Can be pictures, movies, or combo of both • Used mainly for recaps

  10. Animation • Rarest CKI video • Images created and “animated” with effects • Most editing done (aka. most time consuming and tech knowledge required)

  11. Storytelling • UNLVCKI Specialty • Movie with a plot • Mostly for entertainment • Storyboarding a must • Requires elaborate techniques
