Survival Gear • Life Rafts • 4-6 man • Available for purchase through LSC.
Life Vests • Wearable type vest is preferable • Needs to have pockets for survival items. • Make sure bladder is exposed!
Sea Dye Marker • Visible for 2 miles at 3,000 ft. • Good target for 1 hr. • Sprinkle around body
Signal Mirror • Most underrated! • Lightweight • 8 mill. Candle power • Visable up to 40 miles!
MK-79 Pencil Flare • Do not aim at aircraft! • Visable up to 10 miles at night. • 250-650 ft. • Small, easy to carry within vest.
MK-124 Flares • Day and Night end. • Day- orange smoke • Night- red flare • Burns for 20 seconds
Strobe Light • 9 –18 hrs. • Easy to see!
Cold Water Survival • Air Crew Dry Coverall • 14 hrs. in 32 degree water • Extra buoyancy • Hood for head
How do we search? • 300-500 ft. • Constant scanning • Important to make yourself visible!
