Aim To support the engagement and ongoing involvement of quality education staff in rural and remote communities of Victoria.
Rural Educators Network • Developed by CEP in 2007 based on previous work undertaken by CEP, Rural Education Forum of Australia and experiences from other states • Learnt from the development of the National Rural Health Alliance to recruit health professionals to rural and remote Australia • Initial focus has been on building partnerships between rural clusters and pre service teacher universities.
Rural School University Partnerships • Four years of operation • 12 rural partnerships supported • Over 240 pre-service teachers involved • 54 rural schools involved • Partnerships in all DEECD regions and 2 CEO Diocese • 5 universities across 9 campuses • Approximately 40% of pre-service teachers involved gained a teaching position in a rural school after their involvement
