About the HMRR • Association (civil society organisation - CSO) and network of associations founded in 2006 aiming to jointly enhance rural development in Croatia • 15 member-organizations, all CSOs: 10 members supporting LEADER implementation and activities relating to rural development on local / regional and/or nationalnoj level + 5 LAGs • Representing the voice of civil society, but open to cooperation, partnership and networking with representatives of public and business sector
Strategic guidelines 2010-12 • Representing interests of stakeholders from rural communities in creation and implementation of public policies • Networking members and stakeholders in rural development to obtain exchange and transfer of information and experiences • Promoting and supporting implementation of LEADER approach in Croatia • Strengthening capacities and development of HMRR
Main activity fields • Promoting, encouraging and assisting LEADER implementation • Representing civil sector in the processes of development and monitoring of national RD legislation • Informing –- e-newsletter HMRR Info, web-pagewww.hmrr.hr, e-mailing, manual for LEADER implementation, leaflets • Linkingtogether member organizations with other stakeholders in RD through networking, partnership and gatherings
Main activity fields Cooperating with international and national networks (e.g. PREPARE, national RD networks) and organisations Project partnership within Grundtvig, IPA, PHARE and other funding schemes Caring for continual upgrading of members’ capabilities (trainings and courses by InWEnt, TEPA ToT, Grundtvig Lifelong Learningprogramme etc.) Promoting inter-LAG cooperation Activities not limited to members only
Members are our strength • Promoting and facilitating creation of local partnerships in their activity area, supporting newly founded LAGs • Providing non-formal education for acquiring capabilities for sustainable local development, community organizing, project preparation and management etc. • Assisting in development and implementation of strategic plans and projects • Specialised in social entrepreneurship, microcredits, youth and/or seniors’ employment, volunteerism etc.
Members are our strength (2) 15 member-organisations: • Ten OCDs dealing with sustainable rural development in different parts of Croatia and on different level • Five newly founded LAGs registered as OCDs. Note: HMRR is advocating and pioneering practical implementation of LEADER approach in Croatia as it is not formally introduced yet.
Our experiences • Activity based on the approximation to the acqui and EU practices, motivated by thegravity of situation in Croatian rural areas • Development of activity and focus complemen-tary / in agreement with the Ministry • Best contribution in informing, exchanging practices and creating atmosphere for collaboration on LEADER implementation • Both HMRR and members are engaged in transfer of LEADER-based experiences to other countries of the region (Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina)
