Development objectives • Project supports Moldova's National Program for Prevention and Control of HIV/AIDS/STIs through: (i) scaling up HIV/AIDS/STIs prevention programs targeted at vulnerable and highly vulnerable groups (young people, IDUS, CSWs, MSM, etc); (ii) strengthening treatment, care and support for people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA); and (iii) strengthening institutional capacity to better respond to HIV/AIDS/STIs in a multi-sectoral approach.

  4. Project Components • Strategic Planning & Institutional Capacity Building for HIV/AIDS and STIs control Policy Surveillance Monitoring and Evaluation Strengthening laboratory capacity

  5. Project Components (cont.) • Scaling up prevention interventions for HIV/AIDS/STI/STI management • Targeted interventions for vulnerable and highly vulnerable groups • Mother to Child Transmission (MTCT) • Other prevention interventions

  6. Project Components (cont.) • Treatment, care and support for PLWHA • Management of opportunistic interventions and palliative care • Provision of HAART (5000 PLWHA of which 2000 identified and over 170 are under treatment) • Home and community-based care and support for PLWHA
