  1. The PCO license may be defined as a license to undertake private hire work in London. Although the official name is a “Private hire driver’s License” it is well known at the PCO license. For the aiming of clarification this website refers to London’s private hire driver’s License as “the PCO License”. It provides you an entitlement to carry passengers for reward and hire. Without an effective and unique PCO Application no minicab offices or operators in London will employ you. Recall, it is illegal to carry passengers for payment in London without being suitably licensed by TFL. If you are found doing this you surely risk and challenge being licensed at all. Private hire is completely unique and different from Hackney carriage.
