  2. Change is an interruption that causes a difference. It is when things don't stay the same.

  3. Have you ever wondered what changes are caused by nature and which are caused by people?

  4. As history is studied, you can see how change is caused by people who want to make improvements to the world by using science and technology.

  5. Think about how you got to school today. How were things different before cars were invented?

  6. In this unit, you can explore basic needs, transportation, and communication to see how our world has changed over time.

  7. You can see how significant leaders in our country have impacted our world through their leadership and the changes they have made.

  8. In fact, long ago our forefathers came from other countries to build a new nation in what we now call the United States of America.

  9. Over time, these people set up a government which is a group of people who work together to make the laws for our country.

  10. Think about our world. Change is happening all around you.

  11. You can see physical and chemical changes as you study the three states of matter and sound.

  12. Sometimes things don’t change. Have you ever wondered why?

  13. During this unit, you can discover why it might be important for some things in our world to stay the same.

  14. Let’s go explore change!
